Mövenpick Resort Al Nawras Jeddah is a Green Globe certified hotel

For a number of years now, we have been implementing solid sustainability practices in our company. We are very proud of the fact that this has also resulted in Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts becoming the most Green Globe certified hotel company in the world.

As a Green Globe certified hotel, Mövenpick Resort Al Nawras is internationally recognised as a property that constantly introduces initiatives with the aim to reduce and optimise its consumption of resources. This includes, but is not limited to, employing energy efficient lighting, reducing water consumption and effectively managing waste and use of chemicals.

Our commitment to environmental awareness is part of Shine, Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts’ Global Sustainability Programme. Shine aims to give back and contribute towards the prosperity of each destination where we operate. The sustainability practices we pursue revolve around three key pillars – Environment, Employer and Social Sustainability – with Education forming the common thread amongst the three.

Receiving Green Globe certification

When it started preparations for Green Globe certification in November 2010, Mövenpick Resort Al Nawras Jeddah established an environmental policy, plan and complete staff training programme for dealing with different aspects of sustainability. Dedicating immense time and human resources with more than 24 weekly meetings, the hotel passed the 2011 Green Globe audit with the highest score in Saudi Arabia and placed third overall in the Middle East with 90%.
